The AIS Live Installation Kit provides all of the equipment required for adding a new station to the system. The package combines all of the hardware and software needed to connect your port to the AISLive network. All that is required locally is a power source, an outdoor location to place the VHF antenna and a permanent connection to the Internet. Once connected and configured the received information will be displayed on AISLIVE.COM.
The AIS Live Installation Kit contains the following items and services:
1. AIS receiver. This is a passive, receive only unit for which no frequency permit or transmission license is required. We currently supply the excellent SR162 receiver.
2. 90 cm VHF whip antenna with 10 metres of high quality 'low loss' antenna cable. An antenna mounting kit is also included.
3. DIGI One SP RS-232 to TCP/IP converter with a 10 metre Ethernet cable. This device will transmit the AIS receiver’s data to the AISLIVE Internet server.
4. Free banner advertisement on your local chart PERMANENTLY (value £780 / €1140 / $1452 per year - for more details click here).
5. 2 Geo-referenced bitmaps covering the area of interest. These bitmaps present the image of the electronic chart on the AISLIVE website.
6. Lifetime access to the system FREE OF CHARGE. Access to AISLive for a multi user licence is currently £1182 / $2275 / €1700 per year. As a member of our network, you would never be asked to pay this fee. This licence applies to all of your team at one location.

VHF whip antenna need to be placed outside on a high vantage point in the area of interest. 30 metres mast height would typically give you 30 nautical miles of coverage. The higher the antenna is placed, the better the coverage range will be.
